Mission: “Lead industry efforts to make Luxembourg the most attractive international centre for investment funds“ ALFI plays a proactive role in leading industry efforts to turn Luxembourg into the most attractive international centre for domiciling and distributing investment and pension funds and the main gateway to the European and global fund markets. Luxembourg is the largest fund domicile in Europe and its investment fund industry is a world leader in cross-border fund distribution. Luxembourg-domiciled investment structures are distributed in over 70 countries around the globe, with a particular focus on Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Buenos días desde Madrid! We’re delighted to be back to the Spanish capital. Our Roadshow is taking place at El Beatriz Madrid with full enthusiasm and a full room too. The event started with the warm welcome address by Jean-Marc Goy, ALFI's Chairperson and H.E Christian Biever Ambassador of Luxembourg to Spain. What an honour to have Mr. Biever with us! Nuria Tejada, Senior Vice-President Business Development at Pictet Asset Management kindly chaired the #ALFIRoadshow. The first panel featured Bárbara Victoria González Gutiérrez, Counsel at Linklaters SLP, Ignacio Nájera-Alesón Sáiz, General Manager at CaixaBank Asset Management Luxembourg, Eduardo Ripollés de la Peña. CESGA, Head of Institutional Business & Sales at MAPFRE Asset Management, María Sanz, Chief Legal Officer at AltamarCAM Partners, and Robert Van Kerkhoff, Managing Director at BNP Paribas. They delved into Luxembourg's pivotal role in global fund distribution and explored its diverse and flexible fund structures, from #UCITS to #alternatives. The #ALFISeminar on Hedge Funds and Liquid Alternatives took place yesterday at Gide Loyrette Nouel in Paris. David Zackenfels, ALFI's Senior VP of Legal, gave a warm welcome address to the attendees. Thank you to Stéphane Puel, Partner at Gide Loyrette Nouel, who chaired this event. The first session featured an insightful keynote by Matt Humphries, Regional Head of Fund Manager Data, EMEA at Preqin, who presented facts and figures on #hedgefunds and #liquidalternatives. We then listened to an interview with Antonio Barattelli from ESMA, led by Allison Norie. Nicolas Bannier, Gilles De Foucault, and Philippe Lespinard discussed why hedge funds are still relevant. claire collet, Bernadette Busquere-Arnal, Olivier Gayno, and Philippe Lopategui talked about the appetite for hedge funds across jurisdictions. From 21 to 24 April, the Schoulfoire took place at LUXEXPO THE BOX. This afternoon, Jean-Marc Goy, ALFI's Chairperson, kicked off the #ALFIRoadshow to Milan 2024. We extend our gratitude to Marco Bus, CEO of Eurizon Capital, for chairing this event. The first panel detailed why Luxembourg remains a premier investment fund hub and provided insights on selecting the perfect option from its diverse offerings. A special thank you to Alessandro D'Ercole, Alberto Claretta-Assandri, Roberto Colicci, Matteo Menegatti, and Valerio Scollo for sharing their valuable insights on this topic. On 19 April, ALFI responds to ESMA’s consultation on the draft common guidelines on reverse solicitation under the Market in Crypto Assets (#MiCA). In our response to this consultation, ALFI generally agrees with the proposed content of the guidelines. We appreciate the underlying purpose of these guidelines is to foster investor protection and we are in favour of the proposed regulatory convergence with the corresponding provisions under #MiFID II. On 19 April 2024, ALFI responds to ESMA’s consultation on the draft common guidelines on the conditions and criteria for the qualification of #crypto-assets as financial instruments under the Market in Crypto Assets (#MiCA). The proposed guidelines aim at providing guidance on the qualification of crypto-assets as financial instruments that national competent authorities and market participants should consider, so as to foster convergence in the local transposition across the EU, regarding the classification of crypto-assets as financial instruments.
